The Labour Party leader Brendan Howlin has stated that his party will build 80,000 affordable and social houses if they are elected into Government.
Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch, Howlin said that his party will be committed to tacking the current housing crisis.
Howlin who stated that the lack of housing is the heart of the crisis, said that his party will spend €16 billion over the next five years to address the crisis.
He also stated that his party would introduce a rent freeze to tackle the issue of rising rent prices.
