A Labour Councillor has called for motorists who illegally park in cycling lanes to be issued with penalty points.
According to The Limerick Leader, the call for a tougher punishment was made by Cllr Conor Sheehan.
The Limerick Leader reports that Cllr Sheehan called for harsher penalties whilst speaking at metropolitan district meeting.
Speaking at the meeting Sheehan said penalty points should be issued to those who blatantly park in cycling lanes.
He claims that the issue is becoming a more common and is bad driver behaviour that must be clamped down upon.
