Electricity prices have risen by almost 22% in a month




Electricity prices climbed by 21.9 per cent over the course of a single month up to November this year, based on the latest data published by the CSO.

Despite this increase, prices remain almost 70 per cent below their peak level recorded in August 2022, reports Breaking News.

They are also 16 per cent lower compared with the same period in November 2024.

Food prices increased by 3 per cent year-on-year, while there was a slight monthly decrease of 0.1 per cent between October and November, reports Breaking News.

Among food categories, dairy products recorded the largest annual rise at 11.1 per cent, followed by meat and meat products at 6.7 per cent, while fish and fish products increased by 5.1 per cent.

Vegetable and animal oils and fats, however, saw a notable year-on-year decline, falling by 16.2 per cent, reports Breaking News.

Prices for chemicals and chemical products rose sharply, increasing by 30.8 per cent year-on-year, while beverage prices dropped by 5.1 per cent.

Wholesale prices for construction products also edged up by 0.1 per cent in the month to November 2025 and were 1.0 per cent higher compared with the 12 months since November 2024, reports Breaking News.
