Ellen DeGeneres will end her long-running American talk show in 2022 after 19 years on the air following on from very serious bullying allegations.
“As great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge any more,” DeGeneres recently told The Hollywood Reporter.
The announcement comes just a few short months after the program was accused of operating as a toxic workplace with DeGeneres herself said to be a total bully to staff, allegedly verbally abusing and even mocking them.
This resulted in three senior producers losing their jobs and DeGeneres opening the current season to air with an apology to her viewers, something that many on social media felt wasn’t enough.
Ellen DeGeneres’s show, which has aired since September 2003, ends in 2022 after her nineteenth season.
