
The Taoiseach has said that it is the Government’s intention to build more social housing and to make housing more affordable for younger people.
Speaking in the Dail, the Taoiseach said that the Government intends to build 50,000 social homes.
He went on to say that he led Fianna Fail in to Government to make a housing a fundamental right and he fully intends to honour that commitment.
Martin’s comments came after he face stiff criticism from opposition TD’s who have questioned the Government’s handling over the recent housing crisis.
