Emergency council meeting called as protests continue outside home of convicted paedophile

An emergency council meeting has been called – as protests continue in front of a convicted paedophile’s new home, reports The Mirror.

Following our Saturday story of a protest outside John Carvin’s new sex animal house in Templemore, County Tipperary, a meeting of local councillors with Tipperary County Council’s housing department was called to discuss the matter.

It has now emerged that Carvin has been given the house – which is next door to Garda College – by Tipperary County Council – sparking further outrage.

It is understood that the councilor told the councilors that the house was allocated to Kervin last week.

Carvin, who sexually abused his brother’s stepdaughter when she was just seven, was moved into the house early last week, reports The Mirror.

Speaking to this newspaper, local councilor Eddie Moran spoke about the anger – and how he expects to meet council officers this week.

“The people in the town of Templemore are very upset over it. I’m disappointed by the allocation by the council to do this to the town of Templemore. There’s a lot of young residents living around there. It’s a small town and a great community town and the people are very upset. We’re having a meeting with the housing section of the council. I just want to thank them for meeting us because this is an urgent problem here in Templemore and it needs to be dealt with,” he said, reports The Mirror.

His comments come as locals staged yet another protest outside Carvin’s home on Sunday.

One angered local said: “We’re locking him in there so he can’t come out. We want him to know that we do not want him here,” reports The Mirror.

Another said: “While so many people arew struggling to get a house he gets a free one off the council. It is an utter disgrace,” reports The Mirror.
