Emotionally Touching: Department store John Lewis finally releases its Christmas advert, which they hope will raise the awareness of loneliness this Xmas

The Christmas cheer is just a matter of weeks away and every major department store is now rolling out their adverts in order to sell their products in time for the Yule time gathering.

Meaning everyone is eagerly awaiting to see as to what the UK’s biggest department store John Lewis Christmas will use to capture our imagination and entice costumers into its stores this November/December., and now the wait is finally over as the department store released its advert earlier today. The store which has received great praise over the years for its clever marketing campaign, released this tear jerker which tells the story of how a little girl Lily makes friends with a lonely man on the moon. The two minute clip then eventually shows us that the space man is cared for after he refuses to give any communication at first.

The touching advert also has a backing track which is a more mellow cover of Oasis hit song ’ Half the World Away, which is sang by Norwegian singer Aurora. The emotional advert comes about after the department store decided to team up with Age UK for their Christmas campaign which hopes to raise awareness of the issue of loneliness amongst older people and encourages others to support in any way they can.
