We wants it, we needs it. Must have the precious. They stole it from us.
Enda Kenny must be thinking along the same lines as Gollum did, when considering who’s attempting to wrestle the precious role of Taoiseach out of his grasp.
He is due to meet with members of the Independent Alliance today, in yet another effort to muster enough support so he can stay in power another while. This will be the second meeting between the two political foes. The first one took place on Friday, and the Taoiseach was handed a charter of changes.
Fine Gael’s camp will be represented by Enda Kenny, Frances Fitzgerald, Simon Harris, and Simon Coveney. On the Independents side, TDs Seán Canney, John Halligan, Michael Fitzmaurice, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran, and Finian McGrath will listen to the outgoing government’s concessions.
