A former senior government consultant has appeared in Limerick Circuit Court, where he admitted running 3 brothels in the city.
56-year-old Thomas Lyons of Malahide replied “guilty” as each charge was put to him by the court. He was then remanded in custody pending a hearing date.
This is not the first time Lyons has been in court for a similar charge. He previously appeared before Judge Ellen Ring for allowing an apartment in Malahide to be used as a brothel.
Lyons’ background involves acting as senior consultant engineer for Atkins Ireland, which was involved with designing aspects of the metro light rail project before it was put on hold due to the collapse of the economy.
