England to ease more Covid-19 restrictions next week but PM Boris Johnson urges caution

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that England will ease further Covid-19 restrictions next week.

However in an address to the English public, the Prime Minister urged caution saying the pandemic is not over and people shouldn’t revert back to the way it was before the pandemic.

Johnson said that although the legal requirements for social distancing and the use of face masks will be lifted, people should seriously consider using them in crowded public places such as transport and gatherings.

The British Prime Minister also warned that although office workers can return, employers and employees should not immediately flood back to the office but rather undertake a phased approach.

Johnson’s comments come after Britain’s Health Secretary Sajid Javid confirmed that most restrictions will be lifted on July 19th.

Under the proposals businesses such as bars and nightclubs can reopen to customers, however owners are being encouraged to use the NHS covid pass.

The pass will be used to prove whether or not a prospective customer has been fully vaccinated or has fully recovered from Covid-19.
