A Briton who volunteered to join Ukraine’s military fight against Russia says he was turned down after being told it would be a liability.
Leon Dawson told Sky News that he was prepared to lose his life defending Ukraine when he travelled to the country’s embassy in London to enlist in its “foreign legion” of fighters.
But the 37-yr-old, who runs a gym in Surrey, said Ukrainian officials turned down his application because he had no military experience.
They went on to say that he would actually be a liability to the rest of the force and that they had no time to train him.
