
ESB crews around the country say that they’re doing all they can to get power back to up to 1 million properties after cables and power lines were torn down during the storm.
Thousands of people are without power as the storm continued to batter the country throughout the day, taking power lines and cables down in its path.
Many properties in the south, west and midlands are without power this morning following a night of a complete gusts, winds and mayhem.
Storm Éowyn made landfall early on Friday morning and smashed up the country with severely strong winds up to 180km/h.
ESB services say that it could take up to one week before all power is restored across the country.
