The European Union has announced plans to confiscate Russian assets and use them to pay for rebuilding projects in Ukraine.
Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Union’s executive, confirmed that around €320bn worth of currently frozen Russian assets will be managed by the EU and invested in projects benefitting Ukraine.
The EU has also proposed the creation of a court to investigate and prosecute Russia’s crimes.
