A renowned business entrepreneur from Eastern Europe believes he has come up with an innovative solution that could solve the nations homelessness crisis and ease the housing crisis by building affordable and easy to maintain log cabins in less than 10 weeks.

According to Harry Laanisto the proud owner of Coppola Cabins the Government could provide affordable and sustainable homes for the vulnerable in Irish society.

Mr Laanisto says his scheme would be considerably cheaper than the current cost of modular housing, with his Log Cabins starting from as little as €30,000 were as modular housing is currently costing the government €243,000.

The successful business man says his company could build a range of log cabins including a standard log cabin measuring 5×7 metres which could provide two bedrooms, a living room and a bathroom, or slightly more expensive cabin costing €70,000 measuring 7×10 metres which could offer three bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a dining room and a bathroom.

Mr Laanisto further explained: “They are easy to maintain as they only need to be stained every five years.” The luxury home provider says his option would be in the best interests of the Irish Government as his relatively cheap log cabins would provide a warm and sustainable home for many families who are currently living in unsuitable accommodations.
