European candidate’s son targeted by sick online trolls because he has Down Syndrome

Politics can bring out some of the best qualities in people, but likewise it can bring out some of the worst, and that’s precisely what Michael O’Dowd, who is running for Renua in the European Elections for the Midlands North West constituency later this month, and his son Conor has been the victim of.

Conor is a well liked and articulate young man who has been involved in various political endeavours alongside his father, Michael, in particular being a voice for people with disabilities and the unborn. Michael has vowed to continue that fight if elected. Conor also happens to have Down Syndrome.

Michael has described how sickening thugs attacked Conor on social media with vile comments.

On one particular picture of both Michael and Conor on Michael’s page, a troll wrote “two retards” with Michael forced to delete it immediately as it literally hurt so much.

Michael told The Liberal:
“It’s really a new low in public life. Attack me and my policies if you like but this goes beyond the pale. We all need to stand up to these faceless nameless bullies. If the object was to keep me quiet it hasn’t worked. I will be even more vocal in advancing the rights of people with disabilities.”

He told us that Twitter wouldn’t remove similar disgusting comments and took no action whatsoever.

The faceless keyboard thug was thankfully reported to Facebook for his sickening comment but Twitter in particular has become a sewer for these rats to run wild in and attack anyone they like from their cowardly profiles.
