The European Union has approved €500m in further military aid for Ukraine.
The latest round of help also includes a €45m package of non-lethal equipment for the country.
The UK is sending a squadron of highly capable Challenger 2 tanks to shore up Ukraine’s defence against an expected spring offensive by the remnants of the Russian army. Poland may also send German-made Leopard 2 vehicles to create a solid armored fist to punch through Russian lines.
