A North Korean defector who escaped the Hermit Kingdom to South Korea before moving to the United States to transfer to Columbia University has spoken out about the “woke” culture which dominates college campuses in the West, declaring “even North Korea was not this nuts”.
Yeonmi Park (27) spoke out about the woke culture in the Ivy League university saying:
“I expected that I was paying this fortune, all this time and energy, to learn how to think. But they are forcing you to think the way they want you to think,” Park said in an interview with Fox News. “I realized, wow, this is insane. I thought America was different but I saw so many similarities to what I saw in North Korea that I started worrying.”
Many commentators have compared the so-called progressive woke culture which swept through academia in the Anglo-phone world before seeping into and dominating mainstream media and politics to the culture revolution of China.
The perversion of Marxism and culture of victimhood where certain groups, particularly White people, and specifically straight, white men, are blamed for all the evils of the world has become the dominant ideology in the West promoted by big tech and major media outlets and has led to an unprecendented assault of freedom of speech.
