Pornhub with financial links to Ireland has just been sued by 34 women who claim the site hosted videos without their consent and profited from other non-consensual content involving rape, child sexual abuse, and human trafficking.

Of the victims involved in the lawsuit, 14 said they were victims of people charged with or convicted of sex crimes, and 14 said they were underage in the videos served on Pornhub.
The alleged Pornhub victims were connected via a website called Traffickinghub which seeks to shut down Pornhub. The site is run by a religious organization known as Exodus Cry, and CBS News notes the group “has been criticized for its efforts to criminalize parts the sex industry and abolish pornography altogether.”
The lawyer for the lawsuit said “This case is not about porn, it’s about rape. This is a legitimate industry that consenting people have every right to participate in. It just needs to be done legally and not with illegal content.” he told CBS.
A company called Mindgeek owns Pornhub. Mindgeek owns more than 150 porn sites with more than 3.5 billion webpage views each month across all their porno sites.
Mindgate operates four Dublin-based companies including MG Billing Ltd.
Dublin based MG Billing Ltd generated revenues of €1.1bn between 2012 and 2018 by collecting subscriptions from premium users for the Mindgeek global porn empire. Revenues for 2018 totalled €185.5m – or a weekly average of €3.5m.
