The Ever Given ship is now ‘mostly’ free as its stern is back in the water, but the bow remains firmly stuck.
The ship ran aground as it traversed the Suez Canal a week ago, ending up wedged diagonally and blocking all traffic. Some 400 ships are now in a queue waiting to navigate the canal.
No fewer than 11 tugboats are pulling at the ship to free it completely, which may happen at high tide today.
