The German supermarket chain Lidl has this morning announced plans to create 600 new jobs in Ireland over the next two years, with recruitment already underway for roles in store operations, warehousing and distribution, and also for head office and regional office positions.
According to the retailer, it accounts for almost 12 per cent of grocery sales in the Republic.
Lidl, which opened its first store in the country back in the year 2000, currently employs around 4,000 people in 146 locations around Ireland.
