The grim trend of road fatalities in recent times continues this morning, after a man in his 20s sadly lost his life in a road accident in Co. Kilkenny earlier today.
The incident happened at around 1am, on the N24 Pilltown bypass, when two cars collided on the westbound carriageway near Fiddown. It is understood the second vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.
The deceased was the only occupant of the car. He was pulled from the wreckage alive, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
