Extremely hazardous conditions expected over the coming days

According to Met Éireann, an Arctic airflow will continue to affect Ireland until early next week, bringing very cold temperatures during the day and night, as well as severe frost and icy stretches, reports RTE.

Additionally, dense fog is expected, along with some showers of hail and sleet which will fall as snow on higher ground.

A Status Yellow warning has been extended until Sunday for low temperatures and ice across all counties of Ireland.

Slippery conditions, hazardous travelling conditions and animal welfare issues could arise due to the very cold temperatures, which are forecast to fall to -4 degrees.

In some parts, there is also a chance of hail, sleet and snow showers.

Furthermore, a Status Yellow fog warning will be in place for all of Ireland at the same time, reports RTE.
