Face masks to mandatory in shops from Monday




The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has confirmed that the wearing of face masks in shops and retail settings will be mandatory from next Monday August 10th.

In an announcement at the cabinet briefing, Martin said the move comes after the wearing of face masks on public transport was made mandatory a number of weeks.

Speaking about the new guidelines, Martin said the wearing of face masks said that the majority of people follow the advice as it is a clear guideline.

He added that the public have been largely compliant when it comes to guidelines and he hopes that people will follow the latest measures.
