It has been announced that social networking website Facebook has set up a new system that will allow people to check on loved ones who are currently in the vicinity of the Paris attacks.
Bosses at the social networking giant say the new function will allow you to see which of your friends are in or near the the attack locations, which then in turn marks them “safe” if you have managed to contact them. Facebook also say the new emergency function will inform you of how many friends are left to be accounted for.
The helpful new function will also contact those who are in the vicinity and asks them if they are OK, before leaving a message which asks them to contact loved ones.
