Arguably Ireland’s greatest ever songwriter, the legendary Shane MacGowan was honoured with a tribute show on Friday night’s Late Late.
The man who will turn 62 on Christmas Day was praised from a height by the likes of Aidan Gillen, Patrick Bergin and Philomena Begley.
His wife and sister were by his side as he recounted tales from his life that led him to become of the world’s biggest musicians.
He ended the show with a fabulous rendition of “Fairytale in New York” with Philomena Begley.
