One Direction’s Niall Horan is taking a career change and will competing at this year’s Irish Open.

The Mullingar man will join retired jockey legend AP McCoy, Northern Ireland footballer Pat Jennings, and The Secret star James Nesbitt in this year’s Pro-Am tournament at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open on May 18.

Niall is sure to draw crowds of 1D fans to the event, as this will be one of his first public appearances since One Direction went on hiatus.

This year’s event, hosted by The Rory Foundation, is taking place at The K Club, Co Kildare from May 19-22.

Tickets for the Irish Open 2016 are priced at just €30 per day, or €70 for the full four days.

A percentage of all tickets sales this year will be donated to the Rory Foundation, which was established by champion Irish golfer Rory McIlroy in 2013 to offer support to children’s charities around the world.
