Families are missing holidays because they’re not getting their new Passports back in time

To be fair to the Passport Office, they are doing their best, but there is just a massive tailback in relation to the numbers of people trying to renew their passport.

A number of people are saying that they’ve had to cancel family holidays because they haven’t gotten their passport back in time.

Because of the pandemic, many people either let their passport lapse or didn’t realise that it had lapsed and thus the summer season has seen a huge influx of applications to be processed.

People are advised to check their passport expiry date and apply immediately for a new one if they need to. It’s expected to take a minimum of a number of weeks to process passport applications but that it could take longer if there’s a backlog.
