The family of a Portuguese nurse are demanding answers and the country’s health authorities have launched an official investigation after the medical professional died just hours after receiving the first dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.
Sonia Azevedo (41) the mother of two worked as a surgical assistant at the Instituto Portugues de Oncologia (IPO), an oncology hospital in Porto and was one of 38 healthcare workers at the IPO who received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine last Wednesday.
Azevedo, who was described as being in “perfect health”, had dinner with her family on New Year’s Eve and went to bed normally but was found dead in her room on the morning of New Year’s Day.
Sonia’s father Abilio spoke the Portuguese newspaper Orreio da Manha and he described his daughter as a “well and happy” person who “never drank alcohol, didn’t eat anything special or out of the ordinary.”
Azevedo’s daughter Vania Figueiredo told the paper. “I didn’t notice anything different in my mother. She was fine. She just said that the area where she had been vaccinated hurt, but that’s normal…”
The cause of Sonia Azevedo’s sudden death is unknown but government’s around the world, including in Ireland, have rushed indemnification for the corporate giants producing the Covid-19 vaccines meaning they will not be held accountable for injuries or deaths that are caused by their mRNA vaccine.
