Family of injured Liverpool fan Sean Cox remain hopeful as he returns to Ireland for treatment

A man who was brutally assaulted outside Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, back in April has returned home to an Irish hospital.

According to Dublin Live, the injured man Sean Cox, aged 53, was transferred to Dublin’s Beaumont Hospital over the weekend.

However the paper reports that Mr Cox sadly remains in critical condition in hospital and his condition hasn’t greatly improved, although the paper states that Mr Cox’s family remain hopeful that he will pull through.

Mr Cox was left in critical condition in hospital after he suffered a major brain injury following a brutal attack by two Roma fans who have since been arrested and charged with assault.

Both men named Daniele Sciusco and Filippo Lombardi were arrested by Merseyside police shortly after the attack which occurred before Liverpool’s Champions League semi final encounter with Roma, on April 24th.
