The mighty Irish fast-food chain Supermac’s has announced plans to open six new branches throughout 2016, creating at least 200 new jobs.

There will be a brand new outlet opening at the Kiltullagh Plaza on the M6 motorway as early as February. It cost close to €8m to build, and will create about 80 jobs. Two more motorway outlets will open over the next two years.

Supermac’s currently operates over 100 outlets in Ireland, and the chain is vying to expand its business into mainland Europe and Australia, but it is facing stiff opposition from another fast food giant, McDonald’s.
