Fast and Furious 8 will leave Paul Walker’s character behind

Fast-and-furious-2It was a bittersweet moment for Fast and the Furious fans when Vin Diesel revealed recently that they are making Fast and the Furious 8. This follows on from the death of star Paul Walker during the making of Fast and the Furious 7.

There were some doubts that the franchise would continue but is a massive money generator for Universal Studios so it is with no surprise that I learned of the next outing that is to be called ‘Fast 8.’ It is due for release in April 2017.

Vin Diesel bypassed the media and announced the news on his Instagram page and even revealed the first poster showing New York where the action is due to take place.

The last film grossed 1.5 billion globally. No plot details have been revealed as of yet about the new one but Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez are all due to return.

Vin Diesel (48) has had a mixed career and has struggled outside of the beloved franchise. His last film, the fantasy adventure ‘The Last Witch hunter’ did not fair well.

He is threading the sequel route now, with ‘XXX: The Return of Xander Cage’ in post production, as well as ‘Guardian of the Galaxy 2’ in which he does voice duties for the character Groot.

Vin is best known for playing the part of Dominic Toretto but it remains to be seen just how much fuel the franchise has left! It shows no sign yet of slowing down anytime soon so they might as well keep churning them out and give the audience what they want.
