Fearless Nigel Farage warns against a second national UK lockdown

Nigel Farage has called on supporters to ‘say no’ to a second UK lockdown, claiming that the ‘cure is becoming worse than the disease itself’ in a video statement on his YouTube channel.

The Brexit party leader warns of a ‘complete and utter catastrophe’ if the UK goes into a second lockdown as Covid-19 cases rise to critical levels across the nation. While agreeing that vulnerable groups such as the elderly and overweight may consider self isolation, Farage said that the effects on the economy and the ‘spectre of mass unemployment’ need serious attention as well as the pandemic.

He also brought to attention the amount of cancer screenings and heart condition tests that have not been carried out due to the extreme focus of the NHS on the coronavirus. Mental health and suicide were also topics of his speech, which gathered 155k views in less than 24 hours.

Farage described Boris Johnson’s Tory government as an ‘elective dictatorship’ which has rolled in restrictive measures ‘without parliamentary debate or scrutiny’ and was outraged by the proposed £10 thousand fines for those in breach of restrictions. He added that, while organisers of anti-lockdown events have incurred massive financial penalties, if one were to partake in a statue toppling BLM protest ‘nothing will happen to you’.

The video concludes with Farage asking his viewers to contact their local MPs to express their opposition to another lockdown.
