Fearless Novak Djokovic says he’d rather miss further Grand Slam trophies than be forced to take a covid vaccine

Novak Djokovic has said that he would rather miss out on future tennis trophies than be forced to take a Covid injection.

Speaking exclusively to the BBC, he said that he should not be associated with the anti-vaccine movement, but that he supports individual voting rights.

Djokovic was asked if he would sacrifice his participation in competitions like Wimbledon and the French Open for his position on the vaccine.

“Yes, that is the price I am willing to pay,” he said.

The 20-time Grand Slam winner was deported from Australia last month after the government canceled his visa due to his vaccination status.

Djokovic, the world number one in men’s tennis, said he was granted a medical exemption to enter the country to play at the Australian Open as he recently recovered from Covid-19.

The full interview will air tonight, Tuesday on BBC One at 8:30pm.
