The Taliban officially announced a ban on co-education in Afghanistan, saying that men are not allowed to teach girls. It’s just one of the first draconian measures that the Taliban have implemented.
Men will not be able to teach girls, said Taliban University Minister Shaikh Abdul Bqi Haqqani. Haqqani said that all educational activities are conducted in accordance with Sharia law.
At a large rally in the Loya Jirga tent, Haqqani assured the Afghan people and all teachers that the Taliban will try to develop the Afghan education system.
