A Florida man who was arrested for stealing prescription drugs got more than he bargained for recently when his latest theft gave him a nasty surprise.
According to reports in the US, the man Peter Hans Emery, 56, was left in a rather difficult situation when he mistakenly took laxatives whilst stealing what he thought was opioids.
Emery who has since been arrested and charged, mistakenly took the drugs whilst stealing them from a house he was staying in.
According to The Smoking Gun publication, Emery was caught on video stealing the drugs from lock box at the house in Pinellas Park.
However believing that he was taking the highly addictive pain killer Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen, Emery was given a shock moments later when it was revealed that he took Equate Gentle Laxative, which promises to provide gentle overnight relief for constipation.
According to reports, Emery took the pills after they were placed in the pain killer bottle by the owner who then immediately informed police.
It is understood Emery was then arrested by police and was given a felony charge, as well as probation violation charges for two prior theft and drug possession convictions.
