SNOW WAY: Met Eireann says heavy snowfalls are now imminent for the entire country

Ireland will now likely see “heavy snowfalls” tonight and tomorrow, according to Met Eireann.

The national forecaster says that predicted snowfalls have been increased since the weekend with the South, West and North of the country due to be hit worst by the inclement weather.

Temperatures are due to take a rapid nosedive from teatime tonight with nighttime temperatures due to fall to -5c.

It’s going to get bitterly cold this evening with frost, ice and sleet falling from 9pm.

Overnight, snowfall of up to 3cm will fall, in particular on higher grounds, but Thursday is due to be the worst day of the week with Met Eireann now saying “heavy snowfalls” are imminent.
