Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin has sounded off today, saying that he’ll become Taoiseach ‘within five years’.
The announcement, first reported by the Mirror, reflects Martin’s eagerness to have a go at the top job. He’s the only Fianna Fail leader to have failed to lead the country so far, so the desire to save face must be strong.
With a disorderly Brexit looming closer, and a dire Budget to match, Martin’s revelation comes at time of uncertainty and unrest in politics.
