It’s getting farcical at this stage because it’s highly unlikely that any Taoiseach will be elected today, but nonetheless it appears everyone is having a go.
Fianna Fail’s Micheal Martin was nominated by a number of Fianna Fail TDs who kept going on and on about Martin’s implementation of the smoking ban.
Meanwhile, Mary Lou Mcdonald, Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan have all been nominated to become Taoiseach which seems absolutely pointless as none of them have enough numbers to reach 80 and secure the position.
Varadkar will more than likely have to resign from the position in the Aras.
