The Liberal understands that a number of migrants will attend a protest today in Newtownmountkennedy.
Referred to as Trudder House or River Lodge in County Wicklow this afternoon, with the entrance route to the location marked by a garda barrier.
It comes after incidents at the location on Thursday night, during which the Public Order Unit pulled their batons and used them during a demonstration, and gardaí said they were attacked.
The gardaí have been accused by the locals of employing aggressive methods and needless force.
One of the women present this afternoon expressed her displeasure with the road’s blocking as well as the inaccessibility of the adjoining GAA pitch.
She stated that the demonstrations would go on and that a march across the town is scheduled for this next weekend.
There are still gardai there at the location this morning and will be there throughout the day.
