Judge refuses to overturn orders that see two squatters made vacate Dublin property

Two squatters who were ordered to leave a north Dublin house that belonged to two deceased sisters have been denied permission by the High Court to appeal the orders, reports Breaking News.

Laksmee Bissuessur and Philip Smith, according to Ms. Justice Emily Farrell, presented “no legitimate basis” for their possession of the property, which is owned by Adeline and Rita Keppel’s estate.

There isn’t any proof “whatsoever to suggest” Evelyn McMillen has done anything or intends to do anything that conflicts with her responsibilities as the estates’ administrator, reports Breaking News.

She did not find any wrong with the Circuit Court’s decision in November 2023 to issue an order compelling Ms. Bissuessur and Mr. Smith to leave the Church Road property that has vested in the administrator for the beneficiaries of the Keppels.

The judge stated that Adeline Keppel, who passed away in 2001, is still listed as the owner of the property, reports Breaking News.

A January 2011 RTÉ news story carried a Garda request for help locating Rita Keppel’s next of kin. It said that, having spent her whole life in the East Wall region, she passed away that month from natural causes at the age of 78.

Ms. McMillen, who lived in Aohgill, Ballymena, Northern Ireland, was related to the deceased through her mother, even though she had never met them, reports Breaking News.
