Final election TV debate sees five political parties battle it out over health and so called climate crisis

Five political parties were represented on last night’s final TV election debate on RTÉ’s Prime Time, with climate change appearing to be the main topic on the agenda while the health crisis was second.

It’s quite startling that both topics superseded the out-of-control homeless crisis but nevertheless Labour’s Brendan Howlin, Green’s Eamon Ryan, Roisin Shortall, Ruth Coppinger and Aontú leader Peadar Toibin spoke to the electorate ahead of the General Election on Saturday.

Many on social media felt that Toibin faired best and appeared to be most politician-like while others questioned why RTE didn’t focus more on the homeless crisis.

It was an opportunity for Toibin etc to get their own message out rather than Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Sinn Féin having it all their way. Who do you think won last night?
