Enda Kenny has finally stepped down as Taoiseach of Ireland, and boy did it take some pushing.
Speaking today in the Dail, Kenny said:
“This has never been about me, it has always been Ceann Comhairle about the challenges that our people and our country face”.
“That said, I’m very happy to have the opportunity to thank you and your predecessors, and indeed all the staff of this house for their assistance and their unfailing courtesy over the last six years as Taoiseach but over the last 42 years since Ive been a member of this house.”
“I have been truly blessed I had that chance,”.
It appears that the seat is all by sat in my Leo Varadkar who’ll no doubt become Taoiseach tomorrow.
