It took a very long time, but at last here’s the start of Phase 2 in unwinding Ireland’s stringent lockdown restrictions.
From tomorrow, a so-called Phase 2+ unwinding of the lockdown will start. This includes all shops being allowed to reopen with social distancing.
Along with that, shopping centres will reopen on 15 June but absolutely no congregating at food courts will be permitted.
Playgrounds can reopen once supervised from tomorrow. Summer camps can also be held once no more 15 people mixing together, the same for sports training.
Up to 25 people can now attend funerals and Public libraries will also open on Monday.
For over 70s and vulnerable, groups of up to six can meet indoors or outdoors once they keep 2 metres apart.
People can travel anywhere in their own county or 20km from their homes, whichever is the greater.
Phase 3, beginning on 29 June, will see all domestic travel restrictions lifted and Churches reopen for Mass.
