The party has denied permission to any of its election candidates to appear on any live broadcast moderated by controversial presenter Vincent Browne.
A missive to such effect was earlier today dispatched from Fine Gael HQ to all its TDs and senators.
The first such programme, dubbed ‘The People’s Debate’ was due to take place in Wicklow this Friday, but it is not likely to go ahead now.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny himself has consistently refused to appear on any TV programme chaired by Mr. Browne ever since the controversial broadcaster jokingly suggested that he ‘stepped into a dark room with a bottle of whiskey and a gun.’
