The recent spell of fine weather has come to a very wet end today, as Met Eireann is forecasting heavy, thundery downpours and temperatures as low as 3C.
There will be sporadic outbreaks of rain today, spreading in a northerly direction as the day goes on. The rain will likely turn heavier and more persistent towards evening.
Thursday is expected to be very wet, with temperatures reaching 13-14C at best, and few sunny spells.
The outlook is for very unsettled weather on Friday, with heavy rain and strong winds throughout the day, and temperatures reaching 12-13C, sinking to 3C at times during the night.
