Cork fire services have been praised for their bravery and quick thinking to help get an enormous fire under control at the multi-storey carpark in the Douglas Village Shopping Centre.
It’s understood that at least 12 units of Cork Fire Brigade were fighting the fire at the Douglas Village Shopping Centre.
It’s believed that possibly one car caught fire at around 7pm on Saturday and that spread to another car and so on until a large number of vehicles were engulfed in flames.
Thankfully at this time, it’s believed that no one has been injured in the blaze. The entire centre was quickly evacuated with an announcement made that it will remain closed today, Sunday.
