Gardaí in Co Carlow have sadly confirmed that a man has died following a single vehicle collision this evening.
It is understood the man aged in his 50s was killed when the vehicle he was travelling in collided with a barrier on the M9 motorway southbound at Junction 5.
Although the man was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny, he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardaí say an investigation is currently ongoing.
