It has been reported that a large “fireball as bright as the moon” has been seen moving across the skies above Northern Ireland.

The news was reported by the Irish Astronomical Association who it was first seen by a member who works at the Met Office in County Antrim last night. It’s is believed that the light could be part of an asteroid burning up in the Earth’s atmosphere.
