Toy company Fisher Price have recalled all baby sleepers following a rise in infants deaths in the US.
It is understood the recall comes after the American Academy of Pediatrics on the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), recommended the suspension of sales of the infant rocker.
In a statement released on their website, Fisher Price said: “While we continue to stand by the safety of all our products, we have decided, in partnership with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, that this voluntary recall is the best course of action.”
It is thought that as many as 32 infant deaths have been linked to the use of the rocker.
The deaths were apparently caused when the infants involved rolled over from their backs to to their stomachs.
Although a full recall of all five million sleepers has been issued, it is not believed that any of the sleepers were sold in Ireland.
