
The Tánaiste Frances Fitzgerald has said she believes that the Gardaí and the Defence Forces have enough resources to deal with any potential terrorist threat.
Ms Fitzgerald’s announcement which is meant to reassure the public comes after one of the terrorist’s behind Saturday nights London attack was found to have taken up Irish residency before moving to the UK.
Speaking to reporters recently Ms Fitzgerald said “Gardaí have the necessary intelligence, intervention capability and resources to deal with the threat of international terrorism.”
The Tánaiste also said: “They were also supported by the Defence Forces and that all necessary resources and supports are being given.”
